Smile Again is a powerful campaign film created for Children 1st, Scotland’s national children’s charity.
The campaign highlights the impact of abuse on children and families while focusing on the possibility of recovery, showing how the right support can help children find reasons to smile again.
Directed by Martin Smith, the film went on to win Best TV at The Nods Awards 2019 and received recognition for its casting and advertising

Jack’s immense technical knowledge and restless enthusiasm for creativity have led him to work with a range of demanding and experienced commercial and drama directors such as Sam Miller (Luther, I May Destroy You, Black Mirror), David Blair (Takin’ Over the Asylum, The Street, The Lakes) Martin Smith (Best Interests, Grantchester, Granite Harbour), Charlie Thorne, Rich Oliver and Stuart Elliott.
Jack is the co-founder of Brick + Mortar and is currently cutting his first two feature films, Daniel Cook’s BFI and Screen Scotland backed Love Letters and Martin Clark’s Public House in between commercial work. He also recently worked as Post Production Supervisor on Screen Ireland backed Spilt Milk for 925 Productions, Leonora in the Morning Light for Skye Films and The Draw for View35 Films, all three films completed their post at Brick + Mortar.
