TIGA’s Games Industry Awards focus on the best games in the industry over the last 12 months as well as highlighting and rewarding best practice from those contributing to its long-term success.
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts is the leading UK charity supporting developing and promoting the art forms of the moving image. Since 1989, BAFTA has continued to specifically champion the film, television and video game industries in Scotland by celebrating excellence, championing new Scottish talent and reaching out to the public.
Distant Star: Revenant Fleet was launched through Steam Greenlight in November 2014, where it was voted in by the community in just 13 days. From there, the title entered into Early Access where we released 20 updates to the game based on feedback from the community, over the course of the next 6 months.
Talking about the award nominations, Peter van der Watt (Managing Director) said, “It’s great that the team’s hard work is being recognised like this, particularly considering that the UK games industry is producing a lot of great titles right now. Part of the reason I set up the studio in Scotland is that talent is known to exist here and the local industry is incredibly supportive”.
The TIGA Games Industry Awards takes place on the 12th of November. The Scottish BAFTA ceremony takes place on the 15th of November.
