FortyLoveMedia and Blazing Griffin are proud to announce that the applications for trainees for the new AURORA – Closing the Digital Skills Gap – training programme is now open.

Supported by Creative Scotland, this is a 9 month structured programme aimed at addressing the content skills gap in Scotland to develop more strategic and specialised expertise.

It will provide emerging, diverse talent with the creative, technical and business skills to support the growth of the creative industries. The talent will work in collaboration with existing TV, film and digital companies to enhance their economic growth and global competitiveness using online and social media to raise their profiles on channels and platforms such as You Tube, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.

The training programme will recruit 12 participants and provide a combination of monthly workshops, courses and seminars delivered by industry professionals and companies at the high-end of digital innovation.

Participants will create content across a range of genres and formats ranging from stills/captions to video with the aim of uploading to the programme’s own Aurora YouTube channel.

The project will include site-visits to broadcasters and digital companies.

In the 8th month of the programme participants will have the opportunity to compete for 2 – 4 week work-placements in digital departments of key indies, broadcasters, charities and other organisations based in Scotland to provide support, strategically plan and create content that is purpose-made for each platform.
