Blazing Griffin Buys Ship, Sets Sail.

OK, it’s time to come clean. We’ve been hinting at a big announcement for a few weeks, and now that we’ve finally signed the deal we can make it public: Blazing Griffin has purchased The Ship: Murder Party from Outerlight.

Wait, what? More importantly, why?

Let us explain.

A few months ago we found out about Outerlight’s impending demise and, being fans of The Ship, realised that it would be a crying shame to let such a truly unique game vanish without a trace. Not just that, but we see a lot of unexplored potential in what’s there, and the game still has an active and passionate community of players — exactly the kind of folks we want to make games for.

As for the future of The Ship, well — she’s being steered towards uncharted seas as we speak. With a bit of luck and a fair headwind we’ll be able to let you know the exact nature of our (bold! daring! courageous!) plans for The Ship and her crew sometime soon.

Amazing news, i have been a fan of the game since i first discovered it. Playing this game with friend was truely an epic adventure. I really hope the guys in Blazing Griffin can make a new version so i can play this again. It would have been a shame to see this game go away, im really happy that you guys purchased it. If (wild guess here) The Ship 2 gets released i will definitely play the shit out of it!

Every year around christmas i visit "The Ship" steam site/forums and i find the forum emty and with old entries. But this year i got a suprise! What can i say, i love this game and i really hope Blazing Griffin can contribute and make a new one. The Ship 2 (wild guess) with portal 2/dota 2 graphics would be wild. I can't wait for the upcoming future of "The Ship".

Yes! This is the best news I've heard for a while. This game has a core group of strong followers, but a new angle and a bit of updating will really pull in newer crowds. If this game had died, I would have been very disappointed. I really hope to see huge patches or a brand new game soon. Bloody Good Time was good, but hardly a sequel to The Ship. It was more of a nod at its existance. I'm expecting great things from you guys! Need help with textures and modelling and I'd be first to volunteer. So excited!

Amazing stuff. A revival of the old game would be great, anything new is just a bonus. Many thanks guys, hopefully some cool stuff will come of this.

Fantastic. Back in the day, me and my brother sunk hours into The Ship online. Great concept, and I'm very much looking forward to this project.

I have a question:

I was given the game by someone else who was given the game. Does the chain of giving then stop or should I beable to further gift it to a friend?

Was really looking forward to sending it to another friend.

Well, I'm excited. The Ship always frustrated me a little bit. It's enough fun that I have played it for hours and hours, but it sucked that it basically had no dev support. It needs updates! Also, single player is a little terrible.
